I need to know why it's not good to use a nicotine patch if you have asthma. i only use flovent and sometimes emergency inhaler in morning. so why?

Patch Okay: Nicotine patch aids smoking cessation; supplies low-level nicotine, eases withdrawal symptoms. Available also as gum, lozenge, inhaler. Inhaler may cause bronchospasm & is not safe with Asthma. However gum, lozenge, & patch may be used with Asthma. All have similar effectiveness when used as directed. Success is multi-modal: avoid triggers, explore more options & behavior therapy with your doctor,

No reason: There is no indication that nicotine patch adversely impact asthma and in fact if this gets you off of cigarettes, the effect would be a positive one. On the other hand, the jury on e-cigarettes and vapors is still out.
