Ticking boxes: Symptoms of radiculopathy cause one-sided back pain and sciatic nerve area symptoms. The symptoms may be numbness, pain or weakness. There may be reduced reflexes, especially in the Achilles tendon, if there is an S1 radiculopathy, an injury which often causes symptoms through the sciatic nerve.
