Throat irritation: The description of your symptoms is suggestive of environmental allergies. This would not be improved with Omeprazole. You may consider taking OTC anti-histamine such as Zyrtec or Claritin (loratadine) for a couple of weeks and evaluate your symptoms for improvement. If no progress, see your doctor for a more thorough work up.
