Eye irritation: Eye irritation is the most common cause. Dry eye, a small abrasion, a foreign body stuck. Try to rinse your eyes with water. If symptoms persist, see your eye MD. There can be inflammation on the inside of the eye (uveitis) that makes it sensitive to light. Also, neurological conditions can make the lids droop.
