A member asked:

Whilst taking lexapro (escitalopram) i've lost the ability to orgasm and ejaculate. is it true that it disables the nerves in the penis and is it permanent ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION: Sexual dysfunction can occur with the class of antidepressants known as SSRI that affect serotonin. It is not a dysfunction to the nerve at all but more with blood flow. The damage is not permanent and will reverse when the medication is discontinued. Speak with your doctor about options and do not stop medications on your own.
