Obstipation: You can try Magnesium Citrate over the counter once and continue miralax (polyethylene glycol) to ensure softer stools. Your doctor could prescribe Golytely or another type of bowel preparation. Careful with Fleets enemas. Be sure your doctor rules out complete abdominal obstruction and partial obstruction. Drink sufficient water. Exercise as able. Eat high fiber foods like fruits and vegetables.

Call your doctor: You may have a blockage that needs to be physically identified and removed. Your doctor will definitely want to know you have not had success getting your bowels to move with the methods you described. Call today, don't wait on it.

Suppositories/mirala: First off - are you drinking plenty of water. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) requires plenty of fluid to work. Another option would be to try enemas - it may be that you are "plugged up" with stool in your rectum - once that is "unplugged" you may have a large BM. I would try a warm soap suds enema (assuming you are NOT have abdominal pain/cramping or a fever) Good luck
