A member asked:

What does moderate modic ii endplate deegenerative signal changes on my mri mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Wear and tear: Modic type end plate changes are a classification system for vertebral body appearances on an MRI. Modic type II means the vertebral body edges (end plates) show wear and tear. Type II changes are less associated with low back pain and lumbar instability than type I. Everyone's spine will show degenerative changes as we age. The Modic system is a way to classify these changes.
