Possibly safe: Biotin is considered POSSIBLY SAFE and tolerated for hair growth when breastfeeding when used at recommended doseages. Consult with your doctor or your child's doctor for recommended doseages. Also Before taking biotin, tell your doctor if you are on any medications that are changed by the liver because taking biotin along with these medications might increase their effects and side effects.

Is Not Proven Safe: Post-preg hair loss is poorly understood, many note fuller hair while pregnant; possibly due to hormonal fluctuations. After delivery, not known if simply a return to pre-preg hair volume. Hair loss is affected by several factors; insufficient evidence that vitamins including Biotin (if not deficient, also very rare) can restore hair. No breastfeeding studies done; safety unknown so avoid taking.
