Rib cage: Sharp,shooting pains in the rib cage area under the breast may be due to a pinched intercostal nerve which runs between two ribs and is aggravated or brought on by a deep breath usually. Gall bladder or right lung problems also can produce discomfort in that area. See your Physician if symptoms persist.
