Just diagnosed w/ hunner's ulcers. is this the same as interstitial cystitis? will they keep coming back after cystoscopy?

Yes=i.c.: Hunner's ulcers is the eponym for interstitial cystitis. I.C. is a symptom complex and a diagnosis of exclusion where you may have urinary urgency and pelvic pain in the absence of other physical findings. On cystoscopy, the urologist may see "ulcerations" or glomerulations. HOwever, these may not be true ulcerations and a biopsy can be negative, Mast cells, immune cells are sometimes implicated.
