My LDL cholesterol was 78 2 weeks ago retested later it went up to 83 my doctor had paused the statin drug after side effects could that cause an increase in my LDL?
Liver enzymes increased significantly from statin, doctor is giving me the option to lower dose before stopping it. ALT is 179. AST is 90. All other enzymes normal. Should I do this and just lower the dose or must I stop the statin ?

Unexplained elevated liver enzymes (ALT. AST, GGT) exhausted every possible cause. Doctor says I must take statin. Started one month ago. Enzymes increases slightly. ALT now at 87. Baseline was 70. Should statin be stopped ? GI says no and cardio -no?
