I never get faint after a bloodt test but today i passed out and now have a very large lump and bruise around the needle hole. is this common?

It can be: It is possible to pass out after a blood draw even if you usually dont have this problem. The lump and bruise could have occurred whether you passed out or not - sometimes it just happens. Next time you get blood drawn, be sure to be well hydrated and have eaten something beforehand.
