Ear fluid: If you are referring to a middle ear infection, it is infected fluid in the middle ear space. Sometimes a eardrum will rupture and fluid will be present in the outer ear canal. Fluid often takes 1-2 months to resolve with a middle ear infection. There are maneuvers that will help drain the middle ear, called Valsalva maneuvers.
