Depends: That's like asking how "addictive" is chewing coca leaf. The answer is, not very, if done only by chewing, only when working at high altitudes. Khat is usually made into a tea, is a mild stimulant, and in East Africa there are rarely reports of problems. When purified and used by snorting or smoking, it may have similar potential for abuse as amphetamines, ritalin (methylphenidate) or even cocaine.
