Normal: The implant is a progesterone only type contraceptive. The number one side effect is irregular and unpredictable bleeding. Some women will bleed daily for up to 6 or 8 months. There ways to control the bleeding with supplemental estrogen - see you doctor if the bleeding is a problem.

Normal: You do have a delay in return to menses when breast feeding exclusively. That means up until you supplement with bottles or even use pacifiers. The implant does not often stop periods. It does often make them irregularly irregular. That means without any pattern. You don't bleed more than you would without the implant but you never know when you are going to bleed. It sounds normal.
