What is the hardest condition for peds to treat==sids?

SIDS rx?: There is no treatment for sids. Sids is sudden death syndrome, and by time it is diagnosed the infant is already dead. The controversy continues over how to prevent sids. Associated risk factors include: sleeping on the baby's stomach; sleeping in bed with a parent; parental smoking; sleeping with thick bedding; family history of sids. Some cases are now known to be due to child abuse.

No treatment!: Not only is there no treatment to prevent sids, it is the most common cause of death in infants. We DO know risk factors are smoking, NOT breastfeeding, Warm room temperature, baby wearing a hat to sleep, and prone sleeping. So the least SIDS risk is the baby who is breastfed, put down to sleep on his back, in a 68 degree room, without a hat, in a nonsmoking environment.

The 1 u don't know: The rare one that you know nothing about and throws you for a loop is the hardest one to treat. The patient who has a mortal illness that the parent does not accept is extraordinarily difficult to deal with. People who are living in a different reality are very difficult to communicate with.
