Cellulitis course: With an appropriate antibiotic, redness and swelling due to cellulitis should start to decrease in 3-4 days, and certainly shouldn't INCREASE. Outlining the edge of redness with a Sharpie pen will help you and your doctor monitor the response.

Cellulitis: it may spread for the first couple days on the antibiotics, they may take 72 hrs to be effective
