A member asked:

I have been diagnosed as having a lung capacity of 80%, i am 53 years old. should i be concerned and can i do anything to improve my lung capacity?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't worry.Exercise: A lung capacity of 80% may actually be within normal range, so I wouldn't get too concerned. Other considerations include symptoms (e.g. shortness of breath, cough), smoking history, history of asthma. So, first, you probably don't need to be concerned. And second, treatment of a specific disease can improve lung function. Otherwise, exercise is always good!
