Not likely: Epstein Barr (EBV) is one of the most common human viruses in the world. It spreads primarily through saliva & most people are infected in infancy but will not have any symptoms. Some sources report that in the US, 95% of all adults will be infected by age 40. So in all likelihood you (and I) are already infected. For most people their healthy immune system will prevent any symptoms developing.
