Yes: There is a rapid test (monospot) that may be performed at some dr's offices, urgent cares or ERs. This test is not as accurate and doesn't give you as much information as the EBV panel test, a send-out test that takes several days to result. This test tells you if you have active mono or if you've had it in the past. The monospot will only be positive in some cases of active mono.

Sure there is: You can test EBV immunoglobulin levels, both IgM and IgG, which will tell you if you never had infection, had recent infection or had past infection that has already resolved. I don't know enough about her symptoms, condition, exam and why you are worried about EBV to tell you what to say to her doctor. Perhaps not considering him or her closed minded would help for a start.

EBV: Epstein Barr virus testing can show recent or past infection with the virus. Also known as acute and convalescent testing for antibodies. Many people have been exposed by adulthood without any serious long term effects. Testing is most important if there is a suspicion of an acute infection, like Mononucleosis.
