Possibly : Your hCG will continue to be positive but if it is declining it is a sign of a miscarriage. You should check with your doctor to see if your levels are declining. If they are increasing, it is possible that you were too early to see a heartbeat.

Possibly.: Ultrasound technology is remarkably accurate, but, as the adage goes, "absence of proof isn't proof of absence." There is a small likelihood that the baby's heartbeat simply wasn't detected. Also, HCG can remain positive for a while even if the fetus isn't viable. Plus, there are cases in which an ectopic pregnancy coexists with a uterine pregnancy. Follow up with your OB.
