A member asked:

My 8month old is having difficulties pooping. is there anything i can do to help him?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Might be normal: If his stool is soft (not hard or pebble like)-he actually is not constipated. Often infants look as though they are straining since there are no developed abdominal muscles like us adults. Their faces turn red as they push usually soft stool. If the stool is hard-you may offer laxative type foods such as fruits and veggies. More servings according to your observations of "difficulties.".
