Overflow incontinenc: The most likely cause of uncontrollable loss of stool in an otherwise healthy child is overflow incontinence. This occurs when a large mass of stool, such as with constipation, interferes with the normal sensation of needing to move the bowels but still permits passage of small amounts of stool (usually loose) around the mass. People with this condition are usually not aware when this is happening
