A member asked:

Hi doc, i have a sharp shooting pain in my left index finger and thumb, its more of under my fingernail what could be the cause?

Causes?: You could have a splinter in those fingers, or you could have carpal tunnel syndrome, or irritation of the radial nerve, which wraps around the back of your upper arm. This is a very small area, and the cause is not obvious.
