Stockholm Syndrome: Yes definitely, I wouldn't say it is easy, any complex trauma should be treated by a Psychologist who is an expert in treating this type of serious trauma. Please look for a more experienced therapist, preferably Certified in EMDR, check out the EMDRIA website. But please reach out, help is available and a real trauma expert will never tell you to just learn to live with the symptoms!

The treatment is: similar to how other traumas are treated, which is with medications and therapy. Usually both work better together than either treatment alone, and compliance with both treatments are of vital importance. Taking medications as prescribed, and staying with therapy can help to resolve the lingering issues and assist the patient back to a state of health. It takes time, as with any trauma.
