A member asked:

I have pain top of buttocks, just below spine. painful only when sitting and pain increases when going from sitting to standing, then pain gone. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Muscular: the pain is most likely muscular. If you are not having pain with standing and moving, it is unlikely to be spinal. When you sit, the muscles of the back need to stretch and they are likely spasms begin to relax when you stand. Stretching exercises and heat to soothe the muscles would be my first step.
