I work at a drs office. i just found out that a patient last week had scabies. i took his pulse by putting fingers on his wrist. could i get infected?

You work in a physician's office and I assume careful handwashing is standard there. Scabies is usually transmitted by skin to skin contact over a long period of time or sleeping on infected bedding.

If you were going to get infected, it would have happened already. Any linens in the office that this patient used would be OK now, as the mites live only about 3 days away from human skin. Obviously, if you have developed any scaling, itchy skin lesions in the past week, your concern would be valid
