Always possible: Check a pregnancy test to be sure. Sometimes women can have implantation bleeding. . Either way you might check with your doctor.

Hard to say: It depends on how early you bled. If you bled mid cycle you could have ovulated. If you had intercourse prior to that, it could cause bleeding. If you are on birth control pills and missed your pills a few days. Either way if you are still spotting then you can get a pregnancy test. It may be a good idea to see your doctor and get an Ultrasound of the pelvis to see what is going on.
