Inguinal hernia: Avoid strenuous exercise, particularly weightlifting or lifting of heavy objects.A hernia is an outpouching of intestine through the wall of the abdominal cavity. The intestine can get caught and result in a strangulated hernia - blood supply to the area can get cut off and you will develop gangrene of the intestine. Do light exercise like swimming and have the hernia repaired.
