A member asked:

What to do if one week after taking ear antibiotics, my daughter has another ear pain, now starting on the other ear?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Persistent infection: She could have the same infection, which didn't clear up with the antibiotics. If an ear infection occurs less than 2 wks from the previous one, it's the same infection. If the period is longer, it's probably a new infection. She may need a different antibiotic to cover a resistant germ. See her doctor.
