What to do if only gained 3 pounds during my pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Weight gain: If this concerns you, discuss this with your obgyn/midwife. Typically, one should gain wt throughout the pregnancy (0.5-1 lbs/wk). However, appropriate weight gain depends on your prepregnancy BMI (body mass index). Underweight (pre pregnacy BMI less than 18.5) weight gain at birth should range from 28-40 pounds. Normal wt 25-35 lbs. Overweight (BMI 25-29.9) 15-25 lbs. Obese 11-20 lbs.
