A member asked:

My doctor just told me that candida can only happen in the stomach to people taking some kind of chemotherapy is this true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Candida: Candidal esophagitis or gastritis is not seen unless the patient is profoundly immune suppressed. This can be due to conditions like HIV/AIDS, severe malignancy, chemotherapy and so on. Not sure what you mean by "happen in the stomach". Candida can be found in the lower GI tract in totally normal individuals.
