Chips and Jaw Pain: Chewing vigorously and repeatedly on hard objects can lead to injury locally within your mouth, but also can traumatize your TMJ apparatus. Moderation is probably best, even if the chips are tasty.

Of course: Chewing hard chips or crunchy things can cause jaw muscle imbalance and even TMJ or temporomandibular joint disorder in your jaw, which can become a painful chronic condition.
