May be a crack: Your tooth could be suffering from a crack in it. Teeth can get cracks even from small silver fillings. Schedule a visit with your dentist as soon as possible to have it checked. Waiting could lead to worsening pain and possibly losing your tooth.

See dentist: You need to see a dentist to have this evaluated. Was the filling just recently placed or was it an old filling? You could have a crack/fractured tooth. Avoid chewing on teeth and see a dentist ASAP.

Ouch: There are a few possibilities You could have some decay under the silver filling, which would cause pain You could have a fracture in the tooth which would cause pain The cavity could be near the nerve which would cause pain. Get to your dentist and have an exam and xray to see the exact cause, the sooner you go, the smaller the problem.

See your dentist: When was the last time the dentist evaluated this tooth? Is this a new restoration? Is this an area that has not been checked in a while? There are many variables, have the dentist do a complete clinical and radiographic examination for a true diagnosis.

Small Filling: Small fillings can be deceiving. There may be leakage around that small filling, resulting in a cavity underneath and major pain. Could be a fractured tooth, too. But why wait in agony? Call a local dentist for an appointment.
