A member asked:

If u get a dissection of the aorta (left beast area) does the pain stop or is it constant? it will probably not stop after seconds right?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See link: Per NIH: In most cases, symptoms begin suddenly, and include severe chest pain. May feel like a heart attack and it can be described as sharp, stabbing, tearing, or ripping. It Is felt below the chest bone, then moves under the shoulder blades or to the back. Can move to the shoulder, neck, arm, jaw, abdomen, or hips. Pain can change moving to the arms and legs as the aortic dissection gets worse. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000181.htm
