No worse heartburn: Mostly avoidance of spicy, minty, citrusy foods, caffeine, and overeating help along with raising the head of your bed with bricks or tiles under the posts on the floor, antacids and medications like pepcid (famotidine) to ease symptoms. It does not harm, however. If you enjoy it and it relaxes you. Why not? Just don't fall asleep in there.

Relaxation is one of the recommendations for people with heartburn, Here are other options: Elevate head of bed, avoid tight clothes that cinch the abdomen, avoid meals late at night, wait at least 3 hrs after a meal to lie down, eat smaller meals, maintain a healthy body weight, avoid smoking, avoid alcohol, coffee, tea, caffeine & carbonated beverages.
