Pain in jaw: See your dentist for an exam and diagnosis of the cause of your teeth grinding (bruxism). Bruxism is a habit usually caused by stress or a bad bite. It can cause teeth pain, fractured teeth, and TMJ pain. A bite guard can help protect your teeth from damage and can often alleviate the jaw pain, but will not stop the bruxism. Your dentist can make a diagnosis and recommend an appropriate treatment
