Not normal: The opposable thumb is what makes us unique. The multitude of muscles, ligaments, bones, and nerves that supply the thumb need to work in union in order for it to function properly. Scar tissue from a partial ligament tear, malalignment, nerve compression, hairline fracture may be the reason it continues to bother you. You should seek medical attention if this continues to persist.
