Can a normal chest xray see anything blocking your oesophogus?

It won't : usually be able to determine the cause of a blockage, but it might be able to detect esophageal distension due to high grade or chronic obstruction. Generally a chest xray is not a good way to evaluate the esophagus. Endoscopy or barium swallow are better.
