Coincidence?...: I suspect that what you are noticing is likely a coincidence and not a real correlation between your menstrual symptoms and your running. The first couple of years that you get your period, they are usually anovulatory and not as likely to be associated with the secondary symptoms such as cramping that are caused by the hormonal changes. Exercise has been shown to decrease these symptoms actually.
