A member asked:

How can hepatitis be diagnosed through a basic blood panel lab test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibodies: The doctor will order blood tests that may assess if your liver is functioning well or if the markers for bleeding are normal. The doctor may order an acute hepatitis panel which will test if you have been exposed to to Hepatitis viruses usually Hepatitis A, B and C. There are additional blood tests that will show if you have active antibodies to Hepatitis A, B or C. The dr will interpret results.
