Get checked: see your PCP. All over itching could be a number of causes including toxins, pathogens or allergic reactivity. I always like to rule out the presence of C. Trachomatis because this bacterium is known for causing itchiness. Burning tongue could also be from a number of causes, but I would definitely check for VOCs which are known to cause burning sensations.

How long?: If these problems just started a couple of days ago, that may be just from a viral infection if a drug reaction has been ruled out. On the other hand, if this is caused by a drug recently, you need to see a doctor ASAP. There are many causes for itching and thus a dermatology consult may be warranted if the problem has persisted for more than 2 weeks or is getting worse.
