No: Fever is the body's way of fighting infection--it is a sign of something going on.Give the baby tylenol (acetaminophen) and ibuprofen only if it is above 102 and not responding to tylenol (acetaminophen) because ibuprofen can be hard on the stomach.Fevers can sometimes cause babies to have a seizure but that does not damage the brain.If the fever is due to meningitis--a serious brain infection there may be damage.
