Dr. N, is right, : a child with a concussion always needs to be evaluated by his pediatrician or, in the case of irritability, sluggishness, vomiting or behavior change, in a pediatric ER. Here is a fact sheet from the CDC. It may add something to the discharge instructions from the ER, if he doesn't require admission. http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/pdf/TBI_factsheets_PARENTS-508-a.pdf
