Hypoglycemia: Hypoglycemia can cause permanent brain damage. Brain cells can only use glucose for energy. I don't recommend too much insulin for anything. When your blood sugar is low to normal in the morning fasting you make sure you eat breakfast after taking your doctor-prescribed dose of insulin. If you are ill, vomiting or not eating, you cut your insulin dose in half and call your doctor.
