No: 1). Water does not hurt or harm kidneys. 2). What do you mean by 0.5-1L water???? For a 17 yrs old male that is much less quantity compared to what is required amount per day. 3). So do you mean water restriction-- if that can harm kidneys??? Then the answer is-- Yes it can.
