No, but don't: The normal kidney can eliminate 6-12 liters of water per day, If you overwhelm the kidney's ability to get rid of water, you risk "water intoxication," or hyponatremia. This can lead to swelling of the brain, which can be fatal if it develops rapidly. Now, if you are playing competitive tennis in hot weather, you might need to replace that much water per hour.

No: 1). Water does not hurt or harm kidneys. 2). What do you mean by 0.5-1L water???? For a 17 yrs old male that is much less quantity compared to what is required amount per day. 3). So do you mean water restriction-- if that can harm kidneys??? Then the answer is-- Yes it can.
