A member asked:

Very often upon standing, my vision becomes dark and i feel a numbness in my lower extremities and it all disappears when my vision returns?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Postural hypotension: When you stand, gravity forces the blood away from your head. Your heart rate increases to compensate, but it takes a second or so. Some people experience lightheadedness or darkening of vision with this. To compensate, go from laying down or sitting to standing very slowly. If the symptoms persist, see your doctor. Hope this helps!
