Mostly: Severe hemolytic anemia overloads capacity of liver to process hemoglobin from ruptured blood cells. Disease of gall bladder, bile duct, pancreas can block the bile flow. Gilbert's disease can cause jaundice when liver function is otherwise normal. There are others.
