Yes!: As a general rule, I tell my patients to eat a lot of vegetables if they want to lose weight, but of course it is possible to overdo it, in which case it can backfire and lead to wt gain. It also depends on how it is cooked. Raw veggies are fine, but if it is fried in oil or has any batter or a high calorie sauce, u might gain wt. A Tbsp of ranch dressing has more fat than a slice of bacon!
