Eternal pain: Sounds like an inflammation of the joints between the ribs and sternum. This has cartilage, just like your knees. When inflamed, they hurt on chest movement and may also click or pop. This is a condition called "costochondroitis". A solid dose of either ibuprofen, or naproxen for 3-5 days is usually therapeutic
